LMSi is an acronym for ‘Library Management System’ Internet. In other words it describes our package, a Library Management System that is 100% on-line and written for the internet.
You only need an Internet capable device, a Barcode reader and perhaps a printer in order to access and use the LMSi system.
The system is reliable, fast and easy (some say fun) to use.
It contains all the modern features and functions that are required by Library administration systems. Comprehensive configuration options allow the system to be configured exactly to your requirements. LMSi is focused on you, the user.
Many companies publish as mission statement. LMSi has uses a 'modus operandi' to present it's soul to the world:
LMSi is currently used in;
Each Library type has a specially configured instance of LMSi suitable to their use. You are not constrained to using a 'canned' solution demanding your conformity.
The LMSi system contains a Catalogue data base suitable for conventional items as well as a user defined range of items. This has been put to good use in the use of non-standard databases;
The flexible and comprehensive LMSi database can be used to record just about anything.
Technical support for using LMSi is provided as part of the subscription. Phone and eMail communication is used to initiate a ‘Support request’. A response is either immediate or within 24 hours.
LMSi is well known for its effective and timely support.
The LMSi package consists of two main web page divisions:
A web page instance is created for each Library providing access to the Administration System and to one or more 'Web OPAC' instances. A Web OPAC or Student Portal may be as simple or as feature rich as your requirements. The configuration of the system is discussed and performed at the initial installation, but can be changed at any time during the life of the system. The LMSi system is designed to grow with your requirements.
Security of your information is enhanced by using SSL on all the Web based connections to encrypt the information. The system also uses extensive firewall rules to exclude undesirable sites from attempting access to the LMSi Web servers.
